PARK FEES:
 

Boat licensing (Except for Boats operated by legitimate businesses) within   Mafia Island Marine Park and Mnazi Bay-Ruvuma Estuary Marine Parks only:

(i) Boats powered by engines of 40hp or less (including Mashuas)
    trading in marine resources

TShs 10,000/= per calendar month

(ii) Boats powered by engines of more than 40hp trading in marine
     resources

TShs. 50,000 per calendar month

(iii) Visiting Leisure Boat privately owned and non commercial

USD $ 10 per entry for maximum of ten 7 days

(iv) visiting commercial Leisure Boat including Chattered

USD $ 50 per entry for maximum of 7 days

(v) Game fishing Boat

USD $ 50 per entry up to 7 days

(vi) Cruise ship

USD $500 per entry

(vii) Visitors staying at lodges and fishing in a boat owned by
       legitimate business in the marine parks or game-fishing Boats
       shall pay a fishing license.

Fishing license of USD $ 20 for any period up to seven (7) Days

(viii) Fishermen on game fishing Boats each pays a fee of

USD 50 for any period up to 7 days

(ix) Passengers in these Boats shall pay entrance fee as stipulated
      above

 

NB: All Boats and water venture facilities owned by legitimate business in the marine parks shall be required to
      register with the Marine Park within 30 days of its acquisition failure of which shall be liable to penalty.

 

BOAT LICENSING (FOR BOAT OPERATED WITHIN MARINE RESERVES OF BONGOYO, MBUDYA, PANGAVINI AND MAZIWI ISLAND MARINE RESERVES ONLY):

Passenger boats with a carrying capacity of 15 passengers and above must be registered with the Marine park and Reserves Unit.

CONCESSION:

 

 Concession to operate public services in Marine Reserves i.e.  restaurants etc.

US $ 2400 per annum. Or 20 US $ per month

COMMERCIAL FILMING FEES:

i)          Image capture of any type, i.e. still photography, motion picture photography, still or conventional video imaging, for commercial purposes, in any Marine Park or Marine
Reserve shall pay USD $ 500 per period of up to 14 days.

 

ii)         Filming for promotional purposes by licensed businesses within the park, for the
purpose of promoting their business in the park and/or the park, should be exempted
from any filming fee.

 

Discretion:

 

The Unit Manager or Warden Incharge of the Marine Park or the Marine Reserves, shall have discretion of granting Partial or Full Exemption of the Fees under special circumstances. Under such cases a written expression of consent shall be obtained.

 

 

Offence:

 

It is an offence to be in the Marine Park or Marine Reserve without a valid permit. Any person who commits an offence and upon conviction is liable to a fine of two hundred thousand shillings or imprisonment for a term of two years or both.
